Start with the job the net must perform
Specify whether the net is needed for scaffold enclosure, debris containment, temporary edge protection, visual screening or a combined site-screen function. These uses affect the preferred mesh construction, finished-panel detail and installation method.
- Scaffold bay dimensions and façade coverage area
- Expected wind, weather and UV exposure
- Whether the net needs open ventilation or greater visual screening
- Attachment points, edge reinforcement and removal frequency
Treat flame retardancy as a documented requirement
“Flame retardant” is not a single universal classification. A buyer should identify the project standard, market, test method and document needed before the material is produced. The requested standard needs to match the supplied construction and final product, not only a generic material description.
Review outdoor durability and finishing
For outdoor work, discuss UV stabilization, color, expected exposure, hem construction and eyelet spacing. A panel that is appropriate for a short-term internal work zone may not be the right construction for an exposed scaffold perimeter.
Prepare a quotation brief that can be priced accurately
A useful inquiry includes a drawing or panel size, quantity, destination, required fire documentation, preferred packing and target delivery date. Clear inputs reduce revisions and make it easier to compare offers on the same basis.
