Ask which standard the project actually requires
Construction documents may reference a regional standard, a contractor policy or a project-specific test method. Ask for the exact reference rather than relying on a general request for “fireproof” or “FR” netting.
Check the scope of the evidence
A test report should be reviewed for the material construction, sample description, test method, issue date and limitations. A result for a different weight, coating or finished assembly may not apply to the material being ordered.
Keep the product claim proportionate
Use “flame retardant” only where the construction and documentation support that description. Avoid treating a material as suitable for a particular regulation until the buyer and supplier have confirmed the applicable evidence.
